Anti-Rape Underwear Promotes Rape

These are cool from a technology standpoint, but…

Sexual assault is not the victim’s fault. Sexual assault is not the victim’s fault. Sexual assault is not the victim’s fault. Repeat this to yourself every day before you go to bed.

This ad campaign also leaves out victims of sexual assault who do not identify as female.

When will society accept the numbers!? Eighty-two percent of sexual assaults and 80% of rapes are committed by someone known to the victim. I wouldn’t have thought to put on anti-rape undies the day I babysat at a friend’s house…

For those of you who have not read, and wish to do so, I’ll post the link to my rape story again. I just recently opened up about it, and I’m not going to shut up about it again. I’m not going to let him win. I am going to share my story to help abolish ignorance about sexual assault. I want to save someone the tears, the guilt, the self-hate, and the anxiety I felt and still have to remind myself to not feel.

Be an ally and educate a friend, or more, today about the facts of sexual assault.
